Why Portea
A plan written by doctors
Dr. Kavitha and Dr. Allia co-authored Portea's care protocols, and review your care plan before it's shared with you.
One care manager throughout
A qualified doctor or senior clinician handles your first call, builds your plan and sends your weekly updates. You'll deal with the same person each time.
WhatsApp updates twice a week
Specific notes on meals, medicines, mood and what changed at home, with a weekly call from your care manager and a full plan review every month.
Who this is for
Most helpful when someone at home needs consistent help and the family wants confidence around how care is being run.
Who this isn't for
Sometimes the need is either much lighter or much more urgent than a managed elder-care setup.
How it works
The same four steps for every family. Every care manager runs this flow, every time, in this order.

1. Tell us what's happening at home
Use the chatbot, WhatsApp or call us. Share your name, your parent's condition, your city and what would help the most.
2. A doctor calls you back in 12 hours
A qualified doctor or senior clinician spends 15-30 minutes with you. Routine, mobility, medicines, the layout of the home, the people in it.
3. A written plan, same day
A clear care plan on WhatsApp: the daily schedule, who will be in your home, equipment if needed, and an itemised weekly price.
4. Care starts. So do the updates.
A trained caregiver arrives. WhatsApp updates twice a week, a weekly call with your care manager, a monthly plan review.
Three easy ways to begin
Real families. Real notes.
A small selection of what families have shared with Portea care managers. Names changed on request; one note is reproduced verbatim from the handwritten letter we received.
To the wonderful
Doctor Kavitha
Thank you for the strong, loyal and sensitive support given to us by the entire Portea team.
All along, from the doctors to the care manager to the caregivers and everyone working behind the scenes, you made sure my mother and our family were supported throughout.
We were never made to feel like it was a commercial transaction.
It was truly an extension of family. We are truly grateful.
Ananya R.
A real note received by Portea
“My husband and I are both advancing in age, and a worry can come up late in the evening. I've called Portea after 6:30 pm, and once as an emergency at 9 pm. The care manager answered immediately and gave us a clear solution each time. Knowing the team is always there to respond gives us a genuine sense of security and peace of mind.”
Meenakshi R.
Elderly couple, Bangalore
“My 88-year-old father was diagnosed with advanced cancer and chose palliative care at home. Portea arranged a round-the-clock qualified nurse, set up the comfort equipment he needed within a day, and Dr Kavitha was available on call throughout. The care was timely, complete and deeply compassionate. They made his final days as comfortable as we could have hoped.”

A note on these reviews
We never invent quotes. Every testimonial here is from a real Portea family, including the handwritten note received by Dr. Kavitha's team. We collect feedback at week one, at month one, and on offboarding.
The doctors behind your elder care care plan
Two clinicians own the protocols every Portea care manager works to. Each plan is reviewed monthly. When a case needs a specialist call, it goes to one of them directly.

Has led Portea's preventive and primary care services for the last six years and is a member of the Family Physician Association. Co-authors the elder-care and post-discharge protocols every Portea care manager works to.

Frequently asked questions
If care is needed soon, a care manager usually calls within 12 hours. If you are planning ahead, expect a call within 24 hours. The chatbot gathers a few quick details so the first call gets straight to your situation.
Your care manager is a doctor or senior clinician who handles your first call, your written plan, the caregiver on the ground, the weekly updates and any escalations. The same person stays with your family throughout.
Every caregiver is matched to your parent's routine, condition, language and home. They read the full care plan before day one. For dementia, each caregiver also clears a specialist readiness check co-designed with the Dementia India Alliance.
You are added to a private WhatsApp group with your care manager. You receive clear updates twice a week, plus a weekly call. The caregiver delivers the care; your care manager is who you talk to.
Pricing depends on what you actually need: caregiver hours, nurse visits, physiotherapy, equipment. After the first call, your care manager shares a written, itemised weekly price. No sign-up fee. No contract. You can stop care any week.
We operate in 40+ Indian cities including Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Chandigarh. If we do not cover your pin code directly, your care manager will say so honestly on the first call.
The care manager reviews the plan monthly and adjusts whenever something changes: caregiver hours, physiotherapy frequency, nutrition, equipment.
If the fit is off, replacement is initiated within 48 hours. The system auto-generates a handover summary so the new caregiver arrives prepared, no repeating the medication list.
Ready when you are
Call if you want to speak right away. Message us on WhatsApp if that's easier. Or use the chatbot, 90 seconds, and your care manager will know your situation before they pick up the phone.
